AJ DEVELOPMENTS RECENTLY had the pleasure of spending the entire day at High Mead Farm as part of our Community Give Back Program. We were recommended High Mead by one of our valued business contacts, and suppliers, as an organisation offering therapeutic farming, including animal husbandry, horticulture, wood work and a variety of workshops in a nurturing and safe environment.

We began the day with a tour round the farm, meeting all of the animals, including some amorous goats, lively llamas and the most affectionate pigs we have ever encountered. AJ quickly got to work, rotovating an entire field, clearing debris, removing dilapidated fencing, all the while avoiding the precious potato patches! We then nourished the land ready for pumpkin planting later in the year (in time for October festivities. Every single member of our team left feeling humbled and extremely appreciative of the opportunity Mark and the rest of the team at High Mead provided us.

The day was concluded by erecting a brand new fence, which was rewarded by a wonderful BBQ put on by the farm, with 100% home grown produce. It was then our responsibility to herd a very rowdy and stubborn bunch of goats back into their pens….a very challenging experience!

Not only is High Mead Farm and the sanctuary they provide a testament to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, but it’s a great day out to enjoy rural activities and attend one of the farms regular festivals.
